In the event that the loan is denied, an appeal may be made through a letter along with the appeals form to a special review panel set up by the Bureau. This panel comprises independent individuals from the educational community who are familiar with the peculiar needs of students. The appeals process will afford you the applicant, the opportunity to present your case to the panel, in a face to face interview. Any compelling reasons that were not stated on the initial application and any supporting documents may be presented in this forum.
Situations that affect the disposable income of the household will be considered as exceptional. Exceptional circumstances include hospital bills, grave illness, death et cetera. Car loans, mortgages, rent, utility bills, daily expenses are not exceptional circumstances.
